Welcome all Moms! MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, a ministry program designed to encourage mothers with young children (ages birth - 1st grade) through relationships and resources. Our moms come from all different backgrounds, lifestyles and denominations, yet we have similar needs and a shared desire to be the very best mothers that God created us to be.
Our MOPS group provides a caring and accepting environment where we gather together to encourage and support one another through fellowship. We learn from one another; we laugh and cry together; we even make meals for one another when we've had a baby or have simply had a hard week. MOPS is about sharing our lives with one another, and we want you to be a part of our community. You are not alone in this virtuous and noble calling of motherhood!

This Year's MOPS Theme for 2010 - 2011
Mothering is both art and science. It combines all of who we are to shape healthy, resilient kids. Mothering is so complex it requires both sides of our brain - not to mention our hands and feet, eyes and ears, mouth and sometimes even our noses! There's the scientific side of mothering where we develop a hypothesis based on certain principles, test that hypothesis in real-time, consider the results and decide what parts worked and what parts didn't. We keep refining our hypotheses until we find what works for us. Intertwined with the scientific, mothering requires an artistry that shades with our personality, colors with our unique gifts, and blends past and current experiences. During the 2010 - 2011 MOPS year, we will focus on the theme of Momology, the art and science of mothering.

What About Our Kids?
We also provide a wonderful program for our children under the umbrella of MOPS, called MOPPETS. Under the leadership of our dedicated MOPPETS Coordinator, Donna Sterling (interim Moppets Coordinator). We are currently looking for a new Moppets Coordinator. This ministry program includes an entire team of loving women that surround our children with the nurture and care of the Lord at every meeting.
Babies from birth to 18 months are snuggled in our nursery, while the older children participate in a more structured, preschool-type environment that includes a Bible lesson and supporting craft, snacks, singing, and just plain fun! We are also very blessed to be one of the few MOPS groups around that do not currently charge their moms for childcare services. If you have any questions, please contact Donna directly at 401-624-9666 for details.
